The Austrian artist Christian Diendorfer studied composition under Francis Burt and Roman Haubenstock-Ramati, as well as instrumental pedagogy (piano and recorder) at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. Numerous awards document his early successes. Sound installations, works for theater, and orchestral compositions with the conductors Johannes Kalitzke and Franz Welser-Möst were further stations in Diendorfer’s career. Recently some of his newly commissioned works, including songs for baritone and ensembles, have had their first performances at the Musikverein in Vienna. In 2018 his opera Die Wand premiered at the Musiktheater Linz.
